The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held the 39th JIIA-IFANS Conference on November 29, 2024, in Tokyo. This Conference has been held since 1986 with the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA-IFANS), the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Experts from both Japan and the ROK, headed by Mr Tomoyuki Yoshida, Director General of JIIA and Amb. CHOE, Hyoung-chan, Chancellor of KNDA, participated in this discussion and exchanged views on (1) Security Environment in Northeast Asia after the U.S. Presidential Election and the Response of Japan-ROK, (2) Current Situation of Japan-ROK Relations, Challenges and Future Prospects.
